The Bangladesh Journal of Political Economy (BJPE) has long served as a critical forum where rigorous economic inquiry converges with the lived realities of our people. As Bangladesh navigates structural transitions and the complexities of impending LDC graduation, the scholarship assembled in Volume 39, Number 2 arrives with remarkable foresight. These five articles bridge a crucial analytical gap, moving the discourse beyond aggregate growth metrics to scrutinize institutional performance, labor rights, grassroots welfare, and macroeconomic dynamics.

This issue places the human and institutional dimensions of structural change at its core. Researchers explore organizational talent management to highlight the human capital underpinning economic performance, while another contribution maps contemporary female ceramic workers’ labor rights back to the historic Haymarket legacy. At the grassroots level, empirical research on community-based health insurance in Gaibandha District demonstrates the vital need for accessible healthcare mechanisms to protect vulnerable populations.
